Power Unit or....?

I have an Acer M7810 desktop running Win7. Recently, but more frequently over the past few weeks, I find that when using the internet, some pages freeze, won't respond to the 'Refresh' tab, and aslo the wireless mouse does not have fluidity of use (batteries OK) and also freezes at time. If I call up Task Manager, I can see that although the 'Processes' are in use and appear ok, on the 'Performance' tab, the CPU Usage is at 'zero' and its trend line is flat. Is this an indication that the Power Unit is going to fail or are there other possibilities, HDD? Any help much appreciated

Do you use IE9? If so try another browser.

Yes, using IE9. Since upgrading from IE8 have not had any problems until all this started a few weeks ago.

Try Internet options.Advanced.And click on restore advanced settings.if that does not work go back to advanced and press reset.

Now not sure if pressing reset whether you will loose your favorites or not.

Power unit definitely not

IE is probably the culprit, mine sticks and stutters so have switched to Firefox or Chrome, only use IE when I really have to.

As wiz says - try another browser to check - I find Chrome as good as any (and faster than most).

Thanks for all the replies; Jock1e tried your Int. Options/ Advanced suggestion and everything seems quicker and more stable all of a sudden. Could it be that simple a solution? Even the mouse seems more stable! However, will perservere over the next few days and then try Firefox and or Chrome if no contined improvement. Have a good New Year.
