Chrome hijacking can I stop this?

If I'me using Chrome, then click on a link, instead of taking me to the site, I get waylaid by Gossipcenter or Searchsomething or etc etc. How can I stop this please?

Download the free version of free SAS, http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html , then update. Check in programs and features for any unfamiliar tool bars etc. and remove. Check chrome's extentions and remove anything unfamiliar. Reboot to safe mode and run a full scan of SAS and delete what it finds. In normal mode open Chrome again to see if ok.
