connecting to router / modem

Please can somebody walk me through the process of connecting to my modem/router ? all was fine until this morning.My main desktop PC is still fine.Since this morning my laptop (wireless) will not connect & my other desktop on ethernet wont connect.Troubleshooting says ; windows firewall & user issues ? any thoughts please , have windows changed something , the 2 x pc's with probs are both on vista, the pc thats ok is on W7. Thank you.

Who is your ISP.

Try switching the modem/Router off for 10 seconds the restart it to see if that fixes the problem.

Or try switching both of the computers that are not working off.Then restart them
