My Apple a1133 laptop charger blew up. What could it have damaged?

The charger fell off the table, made a bang and started smoking. I bought a new charger but the laptop won't go on now. What may I need to replace? Or is it finished?

Could have blown the whole motherboard

or if lucky has just damaged the connector

really very hard to tell.

Your data is probably oOK, if you put your hard drive into a caddy and connect to another machine you can probably recover it.
