epson printers display stopped status

I use a mac Os10.5.8 and have two epson printers. Neither will print and show printer is ready but the show 'stopped' status. cannot print test page and in system preferences printers are shown connected and shared. Help would be appreciated, thanks

Just a thought but is there anything in the Print Queue? Right click on your Printer and select See what's Printing If there are documents listed clear them OR there may be something here to help enter link description here
