how I can retrieve my contacts (small, devilish child!)

My grandson thought he would "help" when I was adding several contacts. Unfortunately, he got rid of all of them. Fortunately, I do have a hidden copy, but not sure how to get all of them into Gmail? Grateful for help....and no, I HAVEN'T killed the little lad. YET

How are you accessing your Gmail account, web mail or through an e mail client such as Outlook express or windows mail?

Actually, I wouldn't mind going back to Outlook Express, now you mention it, but I cannot get the right setup.Incoming is ok, but outgoing does not work, whatever parameters I try to set

on the web page I assume you mean the list on the left?

click on down arrow next to silhouette - Show in chat list tick most popular tick large.

OE settings for Gmail

tools - accounts - properties - server tab

POP3

incomming - pop.gmail.com (or 127.0.0.1)

outgoing - smpt.gmail.com

Account name - pop.gmail.com&yourusename@gmail.com

Password - make sure you get this correct including capitals and numbers if necessary

Untick Log on using secure password Auth...

tick My Server require auth...

Security Tab - Algorithm 3DES

Advanced tab - Outgoing mail 445

Tick This server require...

Incoming 110

click OK
