Used to be able select "Pages from the UK" when doing a Google search but it no longer seems possible.
Is that a function of Google or Chrome, and can I get it back?

Hmm - odd. The same thing has happened to my IE9. Google change of policy? Perhaps they're cross that they are going to have to pay UK tax!

Same in Firefox so i guess it's a Google change rather than anything else

It's a google change but it is still available. Below the search box you should see web, images, maps, shopping, and at the end search tools. Click on search tools and a drop down box will appear and the drop down box under the web will allow you to choose uk only.
You can try adding uk to the end of your search too.
