connecting to Belkin modem router

I have just completed a reformat / install of W7.I need to get on-line via my Belkin modem router which is connected by ethernet cable.Can anyone please suggest the method by which I get my pc talking to the router, isp is tiscali ? Thanks.

Thank You to everyone, I re-installed the original CD & now all is fine, I am grateful to everyone for their patience with me - on this matter & my previous on antivirus probs,my reformat & reinstall of W7 has been excellent & I never thought I would complete this.Thanks to All.
