In theory If I purchased a security program for my computer which I have would I be able to run it on both of my computers providing I was only using one at any time.

Same ISP and e-mail address etc, It sounds reasonable but would it work.

Another [similar] scenario could be, having 2 seperate installations of the same security program working on 1 pc with two bootable partitions ... ie. using only 1 computer. [One of my laptops is configured just like that].

I hope you don't mind me saying that, Jock1e.

Check the license agreement - some security packages can be used on upto 3 machines.

I know that there were some programs that you could run on both if you had a computer and laptop but cannot remember what they were.

I will have a look at the license agreement when I download it on to my computer, But will have a look elsewhere to see if I can find it.

I don't usually read the licence agreement's as they are normally from a well known company's but I will check it out.

As Fruit Bat states it depends on the license. My Kaspersky licence allows me to run on 3 PC's at the same time.
