Laptop mouse/cursor stopped working suddently

I'am a computer noob, today my wireless mouse 5 minutes into a game suddently stopped working, eg i move the mouse and the cursor does not move on the screen, the left and right click work. I think my laptop is not reading the laser on my mouse,I checked batterey's turned my mouse and laptop off and back on still not working.then i tryed an old mouse of mine worked fine for 5 minutes or so and the same problem happened, my touch pad works fine please help

uninstall and reinstall the driver for the mouse.

Iv tryed two mouse's how is unintall and reinstalling going to help? trying it anyway tho cant hurt.
