How do you repair windows system restore or a recovery console without XP CD?

My system won't allow these functions.

It's at the bottom left corner of the window that opens to allow you to browse/select where to save the file. You put a dot in the circle for 'All'

Are you backing up your registry so that you can restore back to it in case your reg fixes imports don't work?

When you click

File

Export

the ALL button at the bottom of the next screen that appears is already selected

Just type a name in the File Namebox (where the cursor is flashing) and then click save.

This will save a copy of the registry into your My Document files.

Then you are ready to start editing the registry

C:\WINDOWS\inf and then in righthand column sr.inf is down near the bottom and is of the Type 'Setup Information'

If you are curious and want to know what it contains you can read it in Notepad.
