Scanning whole documents into editable word documents.

Hi,
I'm struggling currently to find a printer and scanner which will work with Windows 7 and do what I want need it to do. I basically need a printer which will scan whole entire paperwork and files and make them editable word documents. I used to have the HP Officejet 4315 All-In-One printer, which would scan my work and allow me to then edit the document in Word. However, this printers drivers have now expired due to it being an older model therefore only working on vista. I'm therefore asking anyone who knows of any printers that are well priced and have the facility inbuilt so that I can use this scanner.
I need this work done relatively urgently so that I can submit my coursework.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for reading!

Thank you nontek, just got linked to OCR from reddit ironically. I will look into it, however, I have huge chunks of work to make editable not just single pages, therefore scanning without a top loader would take forever, any printer suggestions with a top loader to feed the work into? Thanks again! :)
