Windows Media Player upgrade

I need to upgrade my Windows Media Player. I used Google to try and find out how to do this, and was directed to dozens of sites for downloading WMP 11. Upgrades were not mentioned at all. Is this how one upgrades WMP, and if so, will I lose all tne music I already have saved to the WMP Library if I re-download it? I have heard about "backing up one's files", but have no idea how to do this.

Nontek Using the links you provided, I was able to ascertain that I already have the latest version of Windows Media Player. Thank you very much for your help.

I have just gone to My Posts on PCA to see if I had had any replies to the above post, but it does not show in My Posts, nor does a search using the title "Window Media Player Upgrade" bring it up. Does this mean it has not been posted by PCA, or could it be a problem with my computer?

Not all of the site runs 'live', some things only update every few minutes - it helps balance the load on the servers.

Just download 11 it overwrites doesn't delete anything
