When I put "scan" into the search box [Windows 7] I get pages of past events which amount to 2gb. New window Search. Would it be safe to delete the whole lot??? without affecting anything.

No it's not safe to delete the whole lot. You will delete the files that are needed to run your scanner software.

Why were you putting "scan" into the Windows Search Box? I'm sure you must have had a good reason?

The reason for scan.....should have been scannow!!!!!!!

If you were wanting to do the sfc /scannow then you may find the following info helpful sfc /scannow windows 7 You can safely delete the sfcdetails.txt file afterwards - see the last instruction on the link.
