3.5" INTERNAL HARD DRIVE FOR BACK UP

Hi there I am looking at buying an internal 3.5" HDD for backing up my 1Tb desktop data drive. I use a hotswap caddy in my desktop, as well as an HP Microserver. The drive might go into either of these at different times. I back up about 200Gb of music and 100Gb of work data.

What drive would you suggest?

5400 Green or 7200?

1Tb, 2Tb, 3Tb?

Manufacturer?

Reliability, speed and cost are the most important issues.

Also, any storage cases to recommend for these? e.g. there is a Cliptec protection case on Amazon?

Thank you!

Don't go bigger than 2T as some mother boards have recognition problems.

7200 if your moving that amount of data on a regular basis, the faster the better or you'll be at it all night :0)

Reliability wise I prefer Seagate or WD but they are probably all made in the same Taiwanese factory.
