Run Laptop on mains only

Please can you tell me if I can run my Dell Latitude D620 laptop direct from the mains supply. Can I remove the battery as it keeps getting very hot, and do I have to change any settings. (can't sfford to buy a new battery just now. Plus I only use the laptop in the house.

Yes you can run it without the battery.You should not have to change any settings.

Yes, you can run laptop direct from Mains via your mains adapter of course.
No need to change any settings, you can remove battery

Yes not a problem. Put the battery back in every month or so for a couple of hours to charge it up just in case you need to use it.
