Projector / laptop display problem

When I teach using Powerpoint 2010 on my laptop (running Vista) through an Epson projector, the projector does not always display the whole screen, cutting off the top or the bottom or both. I've tried to used the Mirrored display option but it doesn't help. This is a relatively new problem as I've taught for years using this system without problem. Any ideas gratefully received

probably need to set the projectors image size on the projector or reconfigure the desktop settings in vista for the secondary monitor (external output)

Possibly a resolution problem or the projector has been changed from 4:3 to 16:9. Assume that the PowerPoint slide looks ok on the laptop without projector connected.
