Keyboard Configuration

Suddenly the keyboard on my desktop machine is misbehaving. Among other things the £ sign over the figure 3 is producing the hash sign and nowhere else on the keyboard does the £ sign appear. Apart from the keyboard facility in Control Panel is there another way of configuration?

You would appear to have set your language to US. See wikihow.
