I have an old Compaq Presario 1500 laptop, which is now running so slowly it is hardly worth switching on. I would like to use the Compaq supplied Recovery discs I have to take the machine back to its factory settings, but so far have been unable to find out how to utilise them. I have tried just about every 'F' key looking for how to start the discs, but nothing. I have looked to try them from within 'Safe' mode. I have tried to contact Compaq/HP, but they are only interested in within warranty questions. Can anyone help please.

Have you gone into the BIOS and set CDROM as default for startup.
