Safely remove stuck on taskbar

Hi all,

My daughters Dell D630 laptop with Vista Home Premium has the Safely Remove Hardware icon permanantly on the taskbar, when I click on it it tells me I can safely remove the DVD RW drive.

Have read about this happening sometimes with SATA hard drives, but the DVD drive is ATA.

So any ideas/help appreciated.

Regards.

According to the Service Manual ClickHere that is correct, you have to 'Safely remove Device' before taking the Optical Drive out of the Media Bay.
