Connect the ethernet cable from the Modem into the computer.Presuming you have a modem and a separate Router.

You need to go into the Router setup Program, using your Web browser. in the address bar of the browser try this address 192.168.1.1 then press enter key. you can disable it in there but you will need to input a password try admin in lower case letters.

PS you need to be connected by Ethernet Cable to do the above
