How safe are the offered programs?

If I were you I would avoid them, all to often they will remove an important registry entry and cause more problems than they are supposed to be fixing.

Some are safer than others. None are completly safe. The only one I would use is part of CCleaner

ccleaner download

Thanks Bluesbrother and Chronus your input is appreciated.

I am new to this forum but have figured out that there are many answers to many questions if you know where and how to find them.

I think I will shy away from the registry fixes until my grey matter has gained a bit more knowledge on the subject.

Used CCleaner for several years.

Never let me down so far, and always does a back up before cleaning.

I use it every time I uninstall.

I agree with everyone. Registry cleaners should be left alone apart from CCleaner which I have used for years now and very good. You should need no other.
