Windows Live Mail excessive junk mail can't stop it

I am suddenly receiving about fourteen or more junk mails seeming to come from different sites, every day and sometimes twice a day. All of these I laboriously put into "Blocked senders list" or "Blocked domain list" and both.
But they still come in , diverted to Junk list which I then have to search just in case a legitimate email slipped through..
If it's in the blocked list why do i get them at all, why aren't they filtered out before.
I can't get any sense out of Windows Help, do you think I should contact my ISP.
I would like to bounce them back to the sender but don't know how.
I'd like to know what triggered all these spurious e-mails about "Your recent accident" and clear your debts, when neither is appropriate, and even from jobseekers which I am not.

Change to Microsoft Outlook you will have to do that next month anyhow.
Not sure if the spam filter will be any better or not but worth a try.
Now I have had the same problem for a little while now just on my MSN mail account.
I had Mine set to stop all traffic that was not one of my regular saved contacts.
I switched it off so that it would not stop spam and waited to see how bad it got.
At the moment I am not getting any spam mails any more.
I have also downloaded mailwasher and was using that but it never stopped the spam or found any either.
So I either reset my MSN ports wrong or it is not working properly.
The likes of hotmail. windows live mail. msn mail now come under Pop3 and Smtp. So maybe you have to change your port settings now.
