Acer laptop trouble with key on keyboard

A few days ago I have experienced trouble with my 'r' key. If I press it with normal touch, it does not register. I have to hit it quite hard and repeat it to get r. Also yesterday my main button (equivalent to mouse left click) is showing the same symptoms. I presumed it was a keyboard hardware problem but Internet searching suggests possibly a registry problem.

I really don't know how to proceed. Any ideas? Many. Thanks Patrick

Ok - I've fixed it. Found some small crumbs under the letter on the keyboard. Removed with a small vac & now working perfectly
