On boot up this morning I got the following message on my desktop PC: System is running in Fail-Safe state. Please recheck - BIOS CMOS Setup. F1 to contunue, Del to enter setup. Any ideas.

Has it been losing time or date that is usually a good indication that it is the CMOS battery.

Not a dell computer is it.

No, it's not a Dell, it's one I built probably about 6 or 7 years ago. I will replace the CMOS battery today and see what happens. I suppose 6-7 years is a long time for the battery. Will let you know as soon as. Thanks a lot.
