Excel 2010 and Win 7 - changes links from network to local user location

Anyone had problems with links in a spreadsheet spontaniously changing from a network location to the users local profile? For example, C:\user\mban\appdata\roaming\microsoft\excel\xlstart? It's driving me nuts!! I've upgraded to Win7 and Excel 2010 and this has never happened in the 15 years that I've been linking spreadsheets with any other OS or previous versions of Excel. It seems to happen, mainly, when another user logs in and opens the file. I've tried using the UNC path rather than the drive letter. I've also tried making all the linked cells hyperlinks. The master spreadsheet was created in Excel 2010 so no compatibility problem. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I would hazard a wild guess that links are in some way 'auto updating' when another user opens the files.
These are all I could find clickhereExcelforum.com and also ClickHere social.technet.microsoft.com that have anything like a solution/workaround.
