Outlook 2010 delete on exit grayed out

using outlook 2010 connected to an exchange server. a user has asked for the option of not being asked to delete items on exit as they have previously accidentally deleted everything in there when they didnt want to. the option under options advanced is grayed out. would it be a exchange server option somewhere?
