Action centre in W7 says no anti virus found

I have W7, fully up to date. I have used Avira as anti virus for a long time. Recently, possibly after this weeks updates, my action centre says no anti virus found but Avira says it is working ok. I uninstalled it, then reinstalled, but the problem persists. I ran a SAS scan with no problems. Any ideas?

Best I can come up with, link,so I'd wait for either Avira update or Windows update.

Thanks. I wonder if this is a ruse to persuade people to use MSE? I will watch and wait.

I don't think so. Just the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing scenario.

I just reinstalled Avira and it said spywareblaster was incompatible, so I uninstalled that. Then switched off Defender. It seems OK now. I will try reinstalling spywareblaster tomorrow! Thanks for your input.

I think disabling defender is the key. Never used it from day one.
