To All People Thinking Of Updating Their BIOS

Unless it is absolutely necessary to make hardware work, do not do it.

If their is any problem during the update your motherboard can be rendered completely useless.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Most modern motherboards come with a Dual BIOS so you really do not have a problem should things go wrong. But with older kit I am inclined to agree with you.

I updated my Asrock H61M-HVS yesterday and it didn't go too well - see my thread, hint - it contains the word 'bricked'.

Luckily when I reset the CMOS by removing the little 'watch' battery for a few hours, it reset the BIOS and it's all working ok again, for now at least.

But yeah, I agree - unless you are having major incompatibility issues, don't do it!!

I think the best two pieces of advice you get here is don't flash the bios unless absolutely necessary and backup now - NOT tomorrow!
