Do powerline adaptors work in a house with two or more ring mains

Our house has three different ring mains, upstairs, downstairs and an extension, all separate from each other. I worry that powerline adaptors won't work if they say I install one upstairs and one downstairs. What do you think?

My Devolo works fine from one ring to another but they all do originate from the same Consumer Unit, I should imagine that only if you have separate boxes for each ring that you might have trouble.

Maplin have discounted the fast 500 speed pair of plugs down to £44.99 which is best I've seen for this speed.
