How do you get 'therefore' (three dots) symbol in Open office?

You could try opening character map on your system - choose font - symbol and the therefore symbol should be at the end of the third row down. Copy and paste.

I remember reading that if you change fonts to Lucida Sans Unicode or DejaVu you should find it there.

Do you mean the one were one dot is above two others ?

Hold down the Alt key and type 8756
Works in word 2003

Go to the character map, select Lucinda Sands Unicode and scroll down for ?
