Cannot copy from my XP to my DVD drive?

I have an XP and I cannot copy or move files from my hard disk to the DVD writer. I am using Sony DVD/R/W discs. I am trying to copy over any old photos etc., prior to formatting and starting afresh. I have tried TeraCopy, BurnAware to no avail! Any ideas,please?

Can you be more specific on the problem? What is the exact method you are trying to use?

XP only supports CD's. You have to get third party software. CDBurnerXP is free and simple to use. Despite it's name it does DVD's - and a lot more. I've been using it for years.
