My pals PC has been infected by a false Metropolitan Police malware. It totally locked the PC in normal mode (Vista). I have run Superantispyware & Malewarebytes in Safe Mode and they have found/cleaned infections. PC now appears to be running OK, but can I be sure the infection is removed? Evidently it is a serious infection.

Try running TDSSkiller and run Eset online scanner in safe mode. If both clean then I think it should be OK.

Do you have pre-view on with your e-mails? If so turn it off.
