Problems with AOL mail help

I am unable to log into my AOL email account. I put the correct user name & password but then a message appears saying "detected unusual activity temporally blocking access, to regain access change password" When I click onto the box "change password" an alert appears saying " we are blocking access to this screen name, that is as far as I can go then.

I have been with AOL mail for many years so all my contacts are locked & I can not read any mail I might be receiving.

Thank you for any help you can give.
