epson printer problem with windows 7

hi I have a n epson sx515w printer that I run wireless there seems to be a problem in as much as the printer shows up you go to print but it reports as being offline (when its clearly on ) you then go to printers and devices in 7 and remove the printer then select add printer it finds in ok puts in the current driver and the thing works fine. Once switched off then on again for its next use it reports as being offline untill the driver is put back in. Is the printer faulty or is this a driver thing with windows ?
