Anyone else on Talk Talk experiencing slow emails? Mine are taking upwards of two hours to get through and this is often a prelude to a wipeout!

I have known too many people who have had their hotmail account hacked so don't personally recommend it.

I use my hotmail addys for what I call my 'rubbish stuff and non personal' and those situations where you just know it will/might get harvested for spam.

At the risk of outstaying my welcome, may I pose one more teeny-weeny query? Thanks, I knew you wouldn't mind!! Ok, I've installed Gmail (Talk Talk still not at home!). What I'm unsure about is, if I transfer everything across will my emails come in via my old OE box, or my new flash Gmail page?

Not sure what you mean by "Ok, I've installed Gmail" as Gmail is Webmail and webmail is accessed through your browser. Do you mean you have registered and made a gmail email address?

OE is a program on your pc.

You can have both ways of using your gmail email address, (sending and receiving) if you follow my instructions on enabling POP in one of my other posts on how to configure OE to collect your gmail.

and you can't outstay your welcome on your own thread :))

Just go ahead and ask all the questions you want, someone will try to help.

Sorry lotvic "Installed" was incorrect, yes I'm registered, have a gmail address and I'm up and running so to speak. I'll follow your instructions and attempt to transfer everything across to OE. Am I correct then in assuming, that when that's done I'll always use my old familiar OE box for sending, receiving...the lot?

"use my old familiar OE box for sending, receiving...the lot"

If you want to, Yes (that's what I do at present). I only log on to the Webmail gmail page occasionally, mostly to mark some emails as spam or correct one that shouldn't be marked as spam. There is always a copy of all your emails on the Webmail gmail server. I don't have a contacts/address list on the gmail server, mine are kept in OE on my pc (that's my choice).

I run Windows Live mail and Thunderbird from the same source, i.e. TalkTalk, so when actively using Live Mail I have a parallel back up with the same messages stored in Thunderbird.
