Epson PX660 printer Scanning Documents

Hi,Does anyone have one of these printers ''Epson PX660''?.If so can I have some help regarding scanning a text document into my documents folder,I have tried to select the pdf setup but it takes ages once it has finished scanning then a box comes on screen with 'Converting' that takes ages even on a doctors prescription and thats not a big text document. Any help please using windows 7,I'm scratching my head to pieces here. Thanks.

The length of time taken to scan a document is proportional to the scanning DPI resolution set, so while 100 DPI scan should be fairly quick 1000 DPI scan would be exceedingly slow, perhaps this is the best place to start investigating ?
