Canon Printer not printing text

Hi there.

I have a Canon Pixna ip3000 which has stopped printing texr documents. It prints picturs fine but when I try to print in Microsoft Works or Wordpad I just get blank sheets.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

FWIW, I really don't think updating the drivers will help. I think that's a bit of a red herring. Something wants cleaning.

I tried lookong for drivers on the Canon website nut they don't seem to have the drivers for my model of printer and I am a bit reluctant to download from just any website. Any idea of a safe place I can download from?

Thanks Ian. Just to cover all the bases, before I start taking my printer apart, I will try updating the drivers.

According to this, the latest driver for your printer was released in 2008. I can't see that being helpful.

... that, by the way, was for the XP driver. They don't show a driver for a later operating system.

Have you looked in the Printer Preferences settings just in case it is possible to select a graphics or text only mode ?

Cheers HC

I am trying to remove the print head but unfortunately I have very bad eyesight and can't seem to see the lever or feel it with my fingers. Any help in locating it?
