Hi, My 5 year old XP laptop hangs on the blue 'Windows XP' screen and does exactly the same when i try to start in safe mode, also the same in 'Last Known Good Configuration'. I do have an OEM XP CD.

Please can i have some/any tips as to what to do?

If a card was in the PC I expect SIW would have found it.

Leave the file if you don't fancy it

Use SIW to see what motherboard chipset is installed.

In SIW either look under devices or video, should show the card.

On this Page ClickHere last entry in Asus Boards. There is no onboard Video. AGP slot is PCI-E x16

Found the direct download link for the motherboard

You still need to find what graphics card it has in in.

Take off the side panel and have a look what the card is in the big brown slot.

It will either be ATi or Nvidea
