why would a graphics card(8800gts)make a high pitched squeak as soon as the pc is turned on?

you may be able to peel the label off the fan and see if there is a small pin hole in the centre of the hub - one drop of very light oil may solve the problem.

Not sure if the fans are renewable on that card it may just clip on.

sorted,apparently it`s an alarm on the card,requiring more power via 6pin molex
