Phonecalls from Microsoft about problems with Windows

I have had more than one phonecall from someone with a foreign accent who perports to be from Microsoft wanting me to put my computer on and discuss the problems with my Windows 7 operating system. I do not have a problem.I suspect this is a scam. Has anyone else had this experience?

I never put the phone down on 'them' I let my computer illiterate wife chat to them. Strange, but after several calls from the Asian gentleman the calls stopped.
