Whats the most likely reason for ram not stating its correct size within a computer? Windows 7 64bit states 3GB ddr instead of 4GB, yet upon start up, the bios states that 4GB is installed. The system is running seperate pci graphics. Thanks for any tips on how I can get windows to correct this, or on any tools that might be useful in finding out the likely reason.

What types of RAM have you? you mention two different brands, what are they, are the timings the same for both brand? What about voltages?
Have you tried Memtest.
Maybe something here to help.Click here.

Perhaps its a limitation of the motherboard itself if its got nothing to do with a pci graphics card or other resources using up exactly 1GB of ram. I believe resource monitor only showed 3072mb total, if there are no bios or system settings I have missed, it would seem that the bios on a supported 64 bit motherboard on 64 bit win7 may simply not support remapping if its settings are correct, and I may need to await a bios update for full addressing of the ram, as microsoft suggest themselves that 'any consumer-oriented computers may not support the memory remapping feature'. thanks
