HP Pavilion 9500 17” Laptop + 4gb ram + W7 ult.
I am trying to use this machine, but I can hardly see the monitor. When I’m in the car, I can’t see it at all.
It’s just about acceptable in the evening at home,,,, but just.
A friend said that I havn’t got it set up right,,,,,,
I’ve never used a laptop before, so have no idea what to expect, or how to set things up. It’s a used item from a neighbour.
At the moment I’m trying it whilst powered by the mains. I’ve had to create a dark corner to see what I’m doing.
I don’t recall this being the same on my Sons laptop.
Can anyone help please ?

It may be as simple as increasing the brightness (Fn key plus another - varies from make to make , but shows a sun type symbol).
If it's not that, it could be the ribbon cable from mobo to screen or maybe an inverter fault.

Good. You're not the first (and certainly not the last) to be flummoxed by this!
