I used to use Shazam, dial 2580 on your phone let the phone hear the music for 30 seconds or so and you will hopefully get a text back with the details of the tune. I have not got any idea whether this would work with someone singing into the phone. In my case it woud be very doubtful as my voice has been likened to a cat in some considerable difficulty.LOL.

Shazam is a great iPhone app for the same purpose. Staggers me how accurate it is after 'listening' to music for just a few seconds.
