Laptop advice

I am looking for a decent 17" Laptop (preferably one that has done well in the reviews) as a replacement for my desktop - see below.

My Old Desktop

CPU: Intel Core 2 DUO E6400 2.13GHz (1066FSB) Mother Board: Asus P5B Deluxe PCI-Express RAM: GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC6400C4 800MHz HD1: Samsung 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache HD2: Samsung 160GB SATA-II 8MB Cache Monitor: Viewsonic VX922 19" LCD Video / Graphics: Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro ULTIMATE Modem: OcUK Value V.92l CD/DVD Writer: 16x16 DVD±RW + Internal Card Reader CD/DVD Drive: Sony DDU-1615 DVD-ROM Speakers: Logitech S100 PSU: Seasonic 500W Case: Antec P180 KB & Mouse: MS Cordless Desktop

Requirements

I am an amateur genealogist and photographer - I use programmes that take up a lot of resources and I often use several programmes at the same time - Multitasking is important. A lot of work is done on line via these programmes - Family Tree Maker especially. Win7 Home Premium & MS Office preinstalled Please. Also Norton or Kaspersky Security Software.

I would like to be-able to play Cd's DVD's and Blu Ray disks on it. Read Write is important as is having a card reader and lots of USB ports. Good Graphics Card is also

important as I enjoy playing on-line games occasionally - Especially massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG).

I have a Virgin Media Wireless Internate connection, and I do a lot of social networking, and use Skype using a webcam.

My Budget is £1.5K but I would like to keep costs to a minimum.

Suggestions & Advice Welcome
