The host 'smpt' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'pop3', Server: 'smpt', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D cant send mail the above is the error message thanks

Have you just set up this email account? If so, make sure you have entered the server as smtp and not smpt as you've typed a couple of times in your posting.

Good, you found it :)

Outlook Express >Tools > Accounts >Mail tab > click on the email account so it is highlighted, Click on 'Properties' button on the right >Servers tab and click in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) box and alter the text, Click on Apply and OK. popup window will close, Click on Close on the remaining popup window.

To green tick this thread as 'Resolved' click on the big grey tick at the side of mgmcc's post (as that solved it) and tick will turn green. Next time page is refreshed thread will be marked 'Resolved'
