I need to format my PC so is there a free and easy way to partition my hard drive so I can back up my files so I can format on the other partition? Thanks.

If you have another drive, do back up everything first! I am no expert but have a look at the help section of Easeus and the create partition section. Some folk here will be more specific.

You could try the free Parted Magic http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=partedmagic This runs from either a CD or a USB drive and loads all the programs into memory at the boot sequence so you aren't using your hard disk during the processing. It has the ability to 'move' and resize partitions. I've used it a few times without any problem.

Essentially it's loading a version of Linux into memory and allowing you to work on the hard disk no matter what the OS is.
