This should be quite easy for you guys. Should I upgrade to IE9? Couldn't tell you what version I have at the moment. Thanks in advance. ( I didn't sell my broken speakers at the car-boot, by the way. That was just a little joke!)

If you are Vista or W7 then yes but if XP no as you cannot. You can always go back to IE8.

This will tell you what version of IE you have. What IE. If you have XP you will have version 8 and cannot get 9 if you have Vista or Windows 7 then if I would you I would update to version 9. That said if you do have Vista or 7 you would have been offered version 9 as an Windows update by now.

I tried I/E9 did not like it and went back to I/E8.No search bar on I/E9 you have to use the address bar.
