cannot open mbf file in Money

After reinstalling MS Money 2005 it refuses to open my files from my backup. "Money cannot locate file or cannot open it, possibly because it is a read-only file, or you do not have permission to change it"

Your backup files will not work until MS Money has been updated.

Locate the Money ‘Sample’ in the Microsoft Money 2005 folder in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2005 and click on it. This will run Microsoft Money and open the 'Sample' file. Once opened Money should notify you of an update. Follow the instructions fully and once it has properly updated open up your back up file and restore it.

Hopefully the update file is still available!

Further to the above it is possible to make a version of MS Money 2005 updated to v1105 by the process shown at this site - http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/630.aspx

Managed to find Money2005-UK-QFE2.exe file. Downloaded it and installed on top of Money and it worked. Thanks for your help Pine Man.
