usb 20 flash drive.please

please can anyone help me.re-above drive.i want to download web info to it but but don,t know how.! i put the fd into the usb port,then what do i do.thanks for any help.

If using Internet explorer it will prompt you for where you want to save whereas with Firefox you will need to set the location before you download. You can do this by: TOOLS -> Options ->Download location.

In Firefox, just go to Tools - Options - General Tab and set "ask me where to save files," and it will ask you every time so that you don't end up having to search through your computer to find out where the recently downloaded file is.

This will also allow you to download straight to flash drive by selecting a folder on the flash drive as the download location.

Or as above you could select Save Files To and browse to your USB Flash Drive (UBS flash drive must be inserted at the time)

thank you very much northumbria61,for your help,i blame my ignorance on my age 77yrs.i was going to file instead of tools.i found it easier when i had xp instead of win 7,can,t seem to get a grip of win 7.many thanks,again.

Apologies I am not trying to butt into your question, but northumbria61's answer prompted me to check. I have been wanting to vary where downloads that I do are saved, and northumbria61's answer told me what to do! But.....

northumbria61,

I am soory to bother you, and don't know if you can help me, but I can not implement what you are suggesting! I am using IE9, with Windows 7 64Bit Homw Premium, and clicked on tools, but I only have 'Internet options'. So I looked through these options. Download was mentioned 3 times under tha 'Advanced' tab, but none of them was to do with where the download should go. Do you have any idea how I can make use of your suggestion?

Once again, many apologies fyre for breaking into your question.

no need to apologise Housten i,m glad you asked,after reading northumria61 i tried and got the same result as you.so i,m still in the dark!! like you i,m using win7 ie9 &acer aspire5747. 64bit.

To set default download location in IE9 click on the gear icon in top right hand corner, select View Downloads, then select Options this will give you a screen from where you can set defailt download location.

I am not a regular user of IE but I think it varies depending on which version you have currently installed. Seeing as you have mentioned IE (I should have asked you previously) there is a link here for you to follow - enter link description here
